Methodology and Limits
Chain identification is keyword-based across facility and licensee names. This pass expands the original source list with researched aliases including Everbrook Academy, The Children's Courtyard, Prestige Preschool Academy, Discovery Isle, Learn and Play Montessori, and The Learning Experience.
Nonprofit matches are excluded from PE counts: YMCA, YWCA, Salvation Army, and Kidango.
Headline shares use licensed centers only. Closed and pending matches remain in the full PE program table so status history is still inspectable.
Facility coordinates are approximate. The map is for spatial pattern recognition, not street-level verification.
Franchise brands such as Goddard, Primrose, and Kiddie Academy may represent independently owned operators rather than direct corporate ownership.
Citation and complaint counts depend partly on inspection frequency and reporting, so they should not be treated as a direct quality score.
This dataset covers centers only. Family Child Care homes are licensed in a separate CDSS dataset and are not included here.
